10 years and counting!

Today September 29, 2010 is Chuck and I's 10 year anniversary! Holy Moo Cow Batman!!
We have faced so many odds that were against us. From people gossiping at our wedding that we wouldn't make it more than 6 months. To people purposely trying to break us up.

We have survived away from our families for the last 10 years, enduring 4 very long deployments to Iraq, and too many other times where Chuck has been gone for trainings for months at a time.

We have survived each other, and our differences as we have grown from immature kids into semi responsible adults.

We have survived the people trying to tempt us with things that would destroy us and our marriage.

We have endured this war that we are going through, and will continue to do so.

We are generally 99.9% supportive of the others decisions, and compromise on the other 1%.

We have faced people putting us down for being in the military, and for our religion, but we have stood strong and tall.

We have gone through ups and Downs on if we should start a family, and I am so proud to say that today I am 23 weeks pregnant with our first child. We made sure that we were strong enough in our marriage before we brought a child into this world that would challenge us even more.

I am proud of the man Chuck has become. He has set himself apart from the life he was raised in, and purposely made the greatest effort to have a better life, and provide a better life than he had. He has worked extremely hard to earn the respect he has in the corps, and I love to see him at work. He is a good Marine, and I am proud of him.

I love my husband. I am certain I am a challenge to him some days, just as he might be to me, but we push that aside and choose not to let little things tear us down.

I have married a good man, a great Marine, and soon to be a terrific daddy.

I love you Chuck, Happy 10 Year Anniversary!!!

I've fallen and I can't get up!

So this last week has flown by, and I am exhausted! Chuck and I decided that it was time for a little vacation. He hasn't been home during the summer in 10 years, and so we opted to make our way home to see the whole family, and to meet some of our nieces and nephews that we haven't met yet.

The trip wasn't to bad. We left on a Monday morning at 6:30 a.m. and made it to Idaho at 7:30 p.m.that night and had only one pregnancy emergency break in the middle of the dessert. (Thank you construction men for leaving those clean outhouses on the side of the road!) I don't think Riley liked the car ride to much. He kicked me a lot the entire ride. But we made it to Idaho, had some dinner, and fell asleep. Somehow all 4 1/2 of us fit into the queen size bed in my old bedroom but we were a little cramped. Harley didn't sleep well the first night. He is so attentive to me now. If I sneeze, cough, or even roll over in my sleep he gets up off his pillow bed, and will run over to me to find out what is wrong. It is cute, but not when he wakes me up. lol

Tuesday our first official day home, we ran into town (logan, Utah) to get a few things. I can't believe how much the valley has grown in just the few years since I have been here. The last time Chuck was home, was Christmas of 2006. wow! He couldn't believe all the changes either. Logan isn't a small town anymore. We stopped at the new Harley shop that neither of us have been in before, and found a really cute little onesie gift set for Riley. I figure if Chuck really wants us to have this Harley life thing...then I am going to make sure we are dressed nice, and don't look like a bunch of scuzzy homeless hooligans like most bikers do.

Wednesday we ran into town again....ran some errands and checked out some of our old haunts again. Thursday we had a mommy daughter date with my sister. We got a pedicure, and went to lunch at my favorite place in town....and even found some Maternity clothes!!! wooohoooo I think it's funny how in California where you are supposed to find everything....I can't find maternity clothes that really fit, and cannot find modest clothes. But in little ole Logan, Utah I can find modest clothing, and stuff that fits! lol All us girls had a pretty good time, and I even got to go to Magical Moon toys for the first time! It is a toy shop that sells toys that you don't usually find at wal-mart. They are fun and different toys.

Friday we ran into town again, and picked up last minute supplies for the baby shower. Also I survived a BBQ with Chuck's family. lol

Saturday was very eventful. Chuck was amazing and really helped clean the house up since I wasn't feeling so great. I had my first and hopefully last pregnancy fall. I was carrying my laptop and things downstairs and stepped on a doggy toy that had been thrown down the stairs. I fell the rest of the way down the stairs and flat of my tailbone. Ouch. So I was in a lot of pain the rest of the day.
we had a baby shower at my mom's. we had 6 people show up. Not to many, but it was really awesome to see some of my old friends from High School, and to see 2 of my YW leaders. We had a nice visit, and some of the girls even stayed a while after everything ended and we just caught up on all the hot gossip in town. lol

Sunday my bottom was still in a lot of pain.....I think I might have cracked it. The house was still clean, and so we didn't have to do anything to prepare for our family BBQ with my sister and her beautiful family. We had fun celebrating birthdays that we missed, and the kids loved all the gifts.

Monday we ran into town again and Chuck and I found some great sales on cute clothes for Riley. Tuesday I had a great lunch with a friend..... Chuck and I were able to register our car in Utah, and save a bundle of money. To register our Yukon in Idaho it would cost us $300 for a year. To register in Utah....it cost us $49.50 for a year. Yah no decision was needed there, we went for the cheaper registration. lol We ran around town and found more sales, and I ran into my old High School principal Mr. Koch from Preston High! He is such a good guy. We had a lot of fun, but really weren't enjoying the hot weather.

That's all that is going on for now. My tailbone is still hurting a lot, and I wonder how I will do another 12 hour drive on it. I will post more later. ;0)
Love you all

Our Foot Long! ;0)

So yesterday was a huge day for me. ;0)

A friend came over and is helping me clean up the house since I have been so sick. I am so thankful for her help. She has really taken a lot of stress off of me, and it is so wonderful to see a clean house again! lol

So yesterday she came over and cleaned a little for me in between her classes she is taking at the local college. Then I showered and made myself somewhat presentable and Chuck picked me up, and we ran to the Perinatal office for another ultrasound. Chuck had picked me up a Dr. Pepper so I could get a little caffeine in my system so my little Riley wouldn't be so modest. But alas he was not affected in the slightest by it. We showed up at the dr, and began our scan about a half hour later. Of course baby was trying to be a little to modest for a bit, but we got baby to turn over. Then we got to look at the baby. He is looking really good. And he is now a foot long! lol Then the doctor took a peek down below, and what do you know......it really is a boy!! ha ha ha I am so happy for that final confirmation. ;0) So we got a lot of photos!! Here they are...Sorry they are so small. I am still trying to figure out how to make them bigger. I love how he is sucking his thumb in one pic, and then it looks like he is boxing in another. ;0)

After the dr. appointment we swung by and picked me up a sandwich. Then we ran to Chuck's work where he worked out for a while. I didn't realise it, but apparently I lapsed into a food coma. lol I fell asleep on the couch at Chuck's work. Then we went to Diggers with a friend, and had a milkshake. Then we came home, and I crashed!! I was so incredibly tired. lol

Not much else is going on....I have a big weekend ahead of me, but hopefully I will survive. lol

Love and miss you all

Knock Knock....anyone home?

Oh my what a day I have had. I did not sleep well last night, and fell asleep at 6:30a.m. I slept for almost 4 hours, and then had to get up to start my day. I have been dragging the entire day. I had to re-schedule my dr. appointment with Dr. Klein since he would be out of the office on Friday. And so I had a 4:40p.m. visit. Chuck trimmed the nails of the dogs, so they won't scratch grandma and grandpa's new floors when we visit. And they both got a bath! Hot diggity dog...we have two cute kids who stink good. ha ha ha

We ran to the bank and made a deposit, and then hurried over to Babies-R-Us where I registered. I had everything from my wish list moved over to the registry now. I am hoping to have a baby shower in Cali with all my friends here, but am not sure if it will happen. But if it does I will let you all know. While we ran around town before the dr. appointment, Chuck took me out to snitch some Yogurtland yogurt!!! Then we went to Marshall's to see if they had any Maternity clothes....of course they didn't, but I did find two things that I really wanted for the baby, but they were really expensive.....and they were so cheap at Marshall's!!!! ;0) I am soooo happy about it.

My dr. appointment of course started off really late. It turned out my doctor had an emergency c-section this morning. One of his patients had a ruptured uterus at 27 weeks with twins...But the delivery turned out well. ;0) While we were waiting I asked the nurse if we could play with the handheld heart beat machine....and she laughed and said yes. She gave me the jelly for it, and turned us loose. We played around with it, but heard nothing. Then the doctor came in, and told me I got all my results back for the baby. I have a 1/100,000 chance of Riley being a Downs baby. I like those odds. Not that I wouldn't want him if he was, I am just very afraid of failing. You know, not being able to give all my child would need and such. I guess I am scared about that regardless.....but more so if my child would never be able to be independent. I am afraid of letting my child down. Aughhh okay enough of that......So the doctor told me I am good for traveling, but to just take a lot of stops, and stretch my legs a lot. Also he used the heart monitor thing....and found my little Riley Man's heartbeat!

After Chuck was done working out at the gym with the guys.....we were heading home. I complained that Riley and I were pretty hungry. So Chuck took us to Ihop!!! I have always wanted to go. I could picture the waffles stacked higher than I could see as we pulled up just dripping with apples, and strawberries, and topped with Whip Cream. But when we actually looked at the menu, I had to many options. It came down to 3 things....
1)-A Belgium waffle, with eggs, bacon, and hash browns
2)-blueberry pancakes with eggs, bacon and has browns
3)-cream filled cinnamon and raisin french toast, with eggs, bacon, and hash browns

I settled on the french toast. I am a sucker for it. When we go to Denny's I always get the French Toast Slam. So my meal came, and I ate the eggs and such. Then once that was gone I moved on to the piece of french toast. It was topped with apples, and was amazing. I didn't care for the sweet cream filling. I thought it was a little to sugary, and to much for me....but the bread was divine!!! I am now a true fan of Ihop, and thank goodness one just moved in across the street! I have a feeling Riley is going to be wanting a lot of it! lol

That is all for now, but I will keep you updated!! ;0) Oh yah...And Riley is now a kicking machine!!!! lol Right now he is rocking out in my tummy! lol
Love you all and miss you tons

Oh Snap!!!

So I had a really bad headache the other day. It was the type where you hide in a dark room, and put ice packs all over your head. So as I was dozing off into la la land.....I was rudely woken up by getting kicked in the gut so hard it startled me and I farted. lol Yup my little Riley bug kicked with a lot of force. I hadn't been expecting such a strong kick yet. But even though it startled me......It was cool to feel my little man stomping around in there.

I have been feeling him kick a lot more as of lately. Normally they are just little movements....not so much a hard kick. But I love feeling it. I am sure it will change and in a few more months I will want him to stop using my bladder as a Trampoline...but until then I love his little kicks. ;0)

I am still not sleeping so well. up all night, and sleeping on and off during the day. I have really been feeling crummy lately, and am wondering if and when I will start to feel better.

Not much else is going on. I have been so sick, I haven't been to church or institute for a long time, and I hate it. I really am hoping that this week I can go for the entire 3 hour block. ;0)

Well that's all for now. Thanks for listening to me blab. lol

It's Riley!!!

Well it is 4a.m. and I am still not asleep. So I thought I should make myself useful and post some pics of Riley that we got. I feel more confident that it was our baby that we saw in the scan. I had noticed the date on the DVD we were given, and saw that it said date created and date modified was 12/2006. I became a little scared that what I saw and we paid for was not really my baby. But after talking with my dad, he told me it was more than likely the program that was created. And after I thought about it, that is when the guy went into business. ;0) Then we received our envelope with some nice quality pictures printed from our scan, and a CD with the pictures on it as well. I looked at all the creation dates on the pictures, and they are correct!!! ;0)The time stamp is wrong, but that just means the guy hasn't ever changed his computer clock. So I am feeling more confident in the fact that This little person really is my Riley Patrick!! ;0)

Oh yah and I felt a small kick twice in the last couple of days! ;0)
Here are the pics of Riley! lol
