weeks flying on by.....

Life is funny sometimes....or sometimes it isn't so funny. It throws curve balls at us all the time, and sometimes we catch them, and sometimes we get smacked up against the side of the head by them.

This week hasn't been the greatest. It went from being a great week.....like puppies pooping rainbows and butterfly's, and then it quickly went downhill. But hey we are a strong folk right? Or that is what I keep telling myself! lol

Chuck is taking leave this next week for 10 days. He hasn't really taken time off in 2 years, so this will be nice for him to relax and wind down. We might go do something, who knows. We are hoping to go to Alcatraz since neither of us have really been sight seeing since we moved here. ;0)

Chuck has been working non stop since October 1st, 2009. And he has not had much time off if at all since then. He just really needs some time to relax. Because if daddy isn't happy, ain't nobody happy!! lol

Not much else is going on, but I will try to keep you all updated as things happen. :0)

Busy Bee's

So this week has been super busy for me, but I have been having fun. I feel like I need a few days off just to catch up with life but things are very good in our household.

Monday Chuck had the day off, and so I went to my first class at TuTe. I love the eternal marriage class. I know I am married, but you can never stop improving yourself and your marriage. Well I skipped out on my second class to spend the day with Chuck. We went to the Gun range in Concord for the 1st time, and got to shoot with some people from our ward. It was really fun. Afterwards we headed to Diggers Diner, and had some really scrumptious food! My Sandwich was Uber messy, and if felt like I was playing in it more than eating it! lol Afterwards Chuck and I headed around town window shopping. And yes...these are my targets! lol

Wednesday was a pretty cool day. Institute was really fun, and then we had Forum. Our speaker this week, is a WWII vet, and is 92 years old! He was so sweet, and so cute! I just loved hearing him talk. ;0) And what was the best part, was he said....Even though he was at war, and scared.....he felt The Holy Ghost with him, and was at peace. I just thought that was so profound of a statement! ;0) He went on to tell about how he earned 2 purple hearts, and The Oak Leaf Cluster, The Bronze Star, and Combat Infantry Badge. He also received the 318th Presidential Unit Citation for Meritorious Service in the Battle of the Bulge under General George S. Patton.
We ate lunch with him, and had Corned Beef and Cabbage and it was scrumpdiliumtious! I really loved it. I had never had it before, and I was very impressed!! ;0) After Institute, I took a plate to Chuck of the Corned Beef, and he liked it. Afterwards we went to a quick movie of Alice in Wonderland! I will give a review of it later, but all I have to say is MEH!! Later that night, we watched the Movie Planet 51, and I thought it was pretty sweet! ;0)

Thursday Chuck had to work late, so we had lunch together, and then I came back later that night and we drove to Brentwood so he could talk to a bunch of people about the trip to Uganda with the captain. It took forever before they let them start!! We had to listen to a bunch of nonsense before that.
video
Chuck's video is to long, and for some reason won't load! ;0(

Friday I went with Chuck to Travis AFB and shopped around the exchange while he was at a dr. appointment. With delays and everything we ended up being there most of the day! lol

Sunday was a big eventful day for me!! I received my Patriarchal Blessing! ;0) Chuck and I drove to the Patriarch's house in Oakland, and we only made one wrong turn. lol We even saw a beautiful old hand crank car sitting outside someones home that they were trying to turn over!! It was fun to see. The houses in the area were really beautiful. I would say a lot of them looked like they were built in the 20's or 30's. They were fun to drive by and we picked out the ones we liked. We met some very good friends of ours there, and had them attend my blessing as well. We love the Oyler's and think the world of them. I don't know if you have every met someone that you would like to become....But I have. They are so strong and firm in what they believe, and they just radiate with the spirit each time you are around them! They are always so happy, and it is very contagious! ;0) We love them so much, and feel that is was a special privilege that they were able to attend my blessing. ;0) I was pretty excited, and I think I was expecting a lot more than what was said. But maybe I was just setting myself up with expecting something. So I am excited for when I will receive the written one, that way I can read it and pray about what it says in it. And maybe I will get some more out of it! ;0) lol But after the blessing, the spirit was so strong!! I have never in my life felt it like that before, and I felt like I was floating!! ;0) I felt so amazing and comforted!! It really was an amazing experience, and to have my husband and friends there to share that with me, made it so much better. Afterwards Chuck was called into work on our way to church, so we weren't able to go, but it was a very special day. I went with Chuck to his work, and we hung out the rest of the day. ;0)

Sorry I haven't updated you in a while, but as you can see I have been a little busy! I will try to keep up this week! lol

Did God create everything that exists?

Is God Evil?

Did God create everything that exists? Does evil exist?
Did God create evil?

A University professor at a well known institution of
higher learning challenged his students with this question:
"Did God create everything that exists?"
A student bravely replied, "Yes he did!"

"God created everything?" The professor asked.
"Yes sir, he certainly did," the student replied.

The professor answered, "If God created everything,
then God created evil. And, since evil exists, and
according to the principal that our works define who we
are, then we can assume God is evil."

The student became quiet and did not answer the professor's
hypothetical definition. The professor, quite pleased with himself,
boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the
Christian faith was a myth.

Another student raised his hand and said, "May I ask you a
question, professor?"
"Of course," replied the professor.

The student stood up and asked, "Professor, does cold exist?"
"What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you
never been cold?" The other students snickered at the young
man's question.

The young man replied, "In fact, sir, cold does not exist.
According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold
is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is
susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and
heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy.
Absolute zero (-460 F) is the total absence of heat; and all
matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that
temperature. Cold does not exist.
We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have
no heat."

The student continued, "Professor, does darkness exist?"
The professor responded, "Of course it does."

The student replied, "Once again you are wrong, sir,
darkness does not exist, either. Darkness is in reality
the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness.
In fact, we can use Newton's prism to break white light
into many colors and study the various wave lengths of
each color.
You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can
break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you
know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount
of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term used by
man to describe what happens when there is no light present."

Finally the young man asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?"
Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course, as I have
already said. We see it everyday. It is in the daily examples of
man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and
violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are
nothing else but evil."

To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist, sir, or at
least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence
of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man
has created to describe the absence of God.
God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when
man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the
cold that comes when there is no heat, or the darkness that
comes when there is no light."

The professor sat down.

A Marine Corps Life!

Loving a Marine is not always play; Loving him truly is a high price to pay. It's being alone with no one to hold, It's being young and feeling so old. It's having him whispering his love to you; It's whispering back that you love him, too. There comes a kiss and a promise of more, and in his mind fond memories he will store. Reluctantly, painfully, letting him go, while your dying inside from wanting him so. Watching him leave with eyes full of tears, standing alone with your hopes, dreams and fears. It's sending a letter with the stamp upside down, to your far away love in a far away town. It's going to church to kneel and pray, and really meaning the things you say. Weeks are like months, and months like years. You wait for the day when you'll have no more fears. Days go by slowly, how many have passed? And suddenly you realize that it is here at last! Yes, loving a Marine brings bitterness and fears, Loneliness, sadness, and despondent years. Loving a Marine isn't much fun, But it is worth the price when the battle is won.

Your alarm goes off, you hit the snooze and sleep for another 10 minutes.
He stays up for days on end.

You take a warm shower to help you wake up.
He goes days or weeks without running water.
You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.
He gets shot at, as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.
You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends.
He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.
You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket.
He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.
You talk trash on your "buddies" that aren't with you.
He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.
You don't feel like helping out your dad today, so you don't.
He does what he is told.
You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.
He walks the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.
You complain about how hot it is.
He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.
You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.
He does not get to eat today.
Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.
He wears the same things for months, but makes sure his weapons are clean.
You go to the mall and get your hair redone.
He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.
You are angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.
He is told he will be held an extra 2 months.
He does as he is told.
You call your girlfriend and set a date for that night.
He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.
You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.
He holds his letter close and smells his Love's perfume.
You ditch class to go to a movie.
He goes where he is told.
You roll your eyes as a baby cries.
He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.
You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.
He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own government and remembers why he is fighting.
You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of the men like him.
He hears the gun fire and bombs.

You see only what the media wants you to see.
He sees the bodies lying around him.
You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.
He does what he is told.
You stay at home and watch TV.
He takes whatever time he is given to call and write home, sleep, and eat.
You crawl into your bed, with down pillows, and try to get comfortable.
He crawls under a tank for shade and a 5 minute nap, only to be woken by gun fire.
You sit there and judge him, saying the world is a worse place because of men like him.
If only there were more men like him

I am a little off! lol

My Personality

Neurotic ism 98
Extraversion 83
Openness To Experience 60
Agreeableness 26
Conscientiousness 61

You are sociable, outgoing, energetic, and lively. You prefer to be around people much of the time. You can be easily upset, even by what people consider the normal demands of living. People consider you to be sensitive and emotional. A desire for tradition does not prevent you from trying new things. Your thinking is neither simple nor complex. To others you appear to be a well-educated person but not an intellectual. People see you as tough, critical, and uncompromising and you have less concern with others' needs than with your own. You are reasonably reliable, organized, and self-controlled.

So Sorry!!

I have been thinking of putting this up for a while, and I was not sure if I should or not. Those of you who knew me in my teenage years probably described me as Fun, outgoing, loud, obnoxious, and a go getter. I was not shy in any way, and nothing held me back. So looking at this description you wouldn't say that is bad, but pair that with the snotty-ness of a young teenager and you have a bad concoction! lol

Nothing scared me, I had no understanding of consequences, and so I embraced the world and all that it gave me. Now it gave me a lot of experiences I would love to give back, and it gave me some that have taught me a lot. But unfortunately some people got caught in it's cross hairs. And for that I am sorry. I have always tried to be nice to everyone!!! I know what it feels like when someone teases you, or judges you for no reason! I know how it is to be made fun of because you are different. I know how it feels when you are completely alone, you don't have a friend in the world you can share your pain with because you know whomever you tell will just judge you, and probably laugh at you. I know what it feels like to be in a room full of people feeling like you are screaming for help or for love, and no one hears you or cares. I know how it feels to be looked down upon because you don't quite fit in and are a little different.......I get it daily! And I really hope that in my life I have never intentionally hurt someone.

I have a motto in my life that I have adopted....I won't lie to you, I will tell you the truth, but I am not going to sugar coat it for you either. I will tell you how it is, and what I think about it. This can make a lot of friends, and at the same time, can really confuse or piss people off. I hate tip toeing around people because you don't want to hurt their feelings. You just end up hurting them worse in the long run because of it. If I see a problem, I confront it head on and fast to fix it....This scares people and probably makes me appear as to aggressive. How are people supposed to fix things in life if everyone is to scared to do it? How is a problem going to be solved if no one will take that initial step to do so?

So my whole point here is that You are in my life because I want you here. Those I don't want in my life...(M.I.L.) I have let you know.....But if I come off as a little aggressive sometimes just laugh at me. I am trying to fix something before it breaks, or I am trying to help. I run on high all the time. People may think I am stressed, and I always am, but I naturally run on high speed when doing a project, or trying to understand or accomplish something. Don't think I am freaking out, if it is a little much for you, just tell me. But if you are someone hurt by me, I am truly sorry. I never intend to do that. I hope I have been able to apologize to those I have hurt in the past. A 14 year old who is running through life at full speed may cause some damage.....If you are one of those innocent bystanders....I love you and am sorry!

Here are my sorry lyrics from Feist:

"So Sorry"

I'm sorry
Two words I always think
After you've gone
When I realize I was acting all wrong

So selfish
Two words that could describe
Oh actions of mine
When patience is in short supply

We don't need to say goodbye
We don't need to fight and cry
Oh we, we could hold each other tight tonight

We're so helpless
We're slaves to our impulses
We're afraid of our emotions
And no one knows where the shore is
We're divided by the ocean
And the only thing I know is
That the answer isn't for us
No the answer isn't for us

I'm sorry
Two words I always think
Oh after you've gone
When I realize I was acting all wrong

We don't need to say goodbye
We don't need to fight and cry
We, we could hold each other tight tonight
Tonight
Tonight
Tonight
Tonight...

Angel

You know when you are having one of those days where you feel completely alone, or that no one wants you or likes you? Well today is one of those days for me. I have this song that I listen to when I feel like that, and sometimes I cry and sometimes it just plunges me deeper into my thoughts. But I thought I would share the Lyrics with you. If you scroll down to the Ipod on the bottom of the screen, and click the arrow button on the right until you reach Sarah McLachlan's Angel song, then it will go perfectly with this blog!

Some day's are harder than others. Some days I wonder why the heck I even try. Why I even torture myself in thinking I might be good enough for others, or I torture myself with thoughts of what could have been. Here is my song that I listen to when I am sad, or I just need some comfort:.........

Spend all your time waiting
for that second chance
for a break that would make it okay
there's always one reason
to feel not good enough
and it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
oh beautiful release
memory seeps from my veins
let me be empty
and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight

In the arms of an angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort there

So tired of the straight line
and everywhere you turn
there's vultures and thieves at your back
and the storm keeps on twisting
you keep on building the lie
that you make up for all that you lack
it don't make no difference
escaping one last time
it's easier to believe in this sweet madness oh
this glorious sadness that brings me to my knees

In the arms of an angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort there
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here

Elbert's Bad Word

This is again one of my favorite children's books. The illustrations are funny, and the story is very entertaining! Elbert is quite the character, and will entertain you.
Audrey and Don Wood once again pull of a great book!

Amazon descripton: A bad word, spoken by a small boy at a fashionable garden party, creates havoc, and the child, Elbert, gets his mouth scrubbed out with soap. The bad word, in the shape of a long-tailed furry monster, will not go away until a wizard-gardener cooks up some really delicious, super-long words that everyone at the party applauds. This single-idea cautionary tale has lively, absurdist pictures of tiara-crowned, formally dressed adults recoiling in horror or cavorting with glee when Elbert, the only child at the party, speaks a word. The transformation of a word into a visible, furry creature, makes its point clearly, but the long words offered as replacement (MY STARS! . . .RATS AND BLUE BLAZES! . . .ZOUNDS AND GADZOOKS!) are as alien to a modern child as the adult garden party with its butler and titled guests.

I hope you like the book!!

Heckedy Peg

This is one of my favorite books. I know it is a kids book, but it is so fun to read. The illustrations are great, and the author is one of my favorites! ;0)

Review from author site: The story, taken from a sixteenth century game still played in England today, describes how seven children named for the days of the week are promised gifts by their mother, who is going to the market. The children, in turn, promise not to open the door but are duped by a witch, who turns them into delicious morsels to eat. The distraught mother tracks them to the witch's cottage and is offered a chance to save her family, but only if she can identify each child by name. It seems impossible, but matching the children's desired gifts with their enchanted states ("pie wants knife, That's Tuesday. Milk wants pitcher. That's Wednesday"), they are saved.

I hope you love the book!

The Vampire's Assistant review

I was pretty excited to watch this movie. It looked pretty funny, and the type of movie I would enjoy. I even bought the first few books in the series because I have heard the Cirque De Freak books were pretty good. But I have yet to read it. So the other day Chuck popped the movie in, and we settled in for some good ole movie watching. It started off pretty funny, and a little interesting. But I have to admit it got cheesy a few times. The whole best friends battling it out now that they are both vamps was a little predictable, but semi entertaining. This movie was overall pretty cute, mildly entertaining if you have nothing else to do. They did leave it open for a sequel, but am not sure it will get one. This seemed very much a Jr. high type movie. It was fun, entertaining, and cheesy.
I give it 3.5 stars out of 5. Don't rush out and buy it, but if it's free to watch and you have nothing better to do, then go ahead and watch it. ;0)

A Piecce of my mind!!

Nonnie thinks that:..........

Running a red light to get onto the freeway isn't going to get you anywhere!!!

Stepping out in front of a moving car is not going to ensure you get to your class sooner!

Contrary to popular beliefs.....my Yukon cannot stop on a dime, and it will run you and your 10 little ragamuffins over when you run out in front of it!

She very much dislikes the noisy neighbor kids!

I have not found my happy, but am trying to find it.....I just don't know where I put it!!

Playdough is the essence of childhood.

My dog has the walkin farts. And it makes me laugh really hard! ;0)

A roaring fire on a cold evening can soothe the soul.

She does not understand why 13 year old girls need to dress like hookers these days.

She is convinced Happily Ever After does not exist except in fairy tales!

She owns way to much junk and still needs to get rid of more of it!

She feels very lonely when her husband is out of town!

Is happy people read her ramblings she throws out into the world!! ;0)

And then there were Three!!

The last two weeks have been a struggle for me. Last week I was a tired mess, but I managed to survive it. For some reason I have been feeling a little down lately. I am not sure why. But here are some updates for ya. Monday my favorite little bird died. I have no idea why, and in the morning, the garbage man is going to take the poor little guy to the dump. ;0( Afterwards, I tried to find more of my favorite eyeliner at Target. I looked at 3 stores and couldn't find it. I wanted to go to the gun range with Chuck and be able to do something with him before he left again, but alas it was a beautiful day all day long, and then right when we were off to the gun range, it started to rain, and they closed it! ;0( Tuesday I went to a CVS Pharmacy for the 1st time, and found some make-up to replace my old. I painted my nails and watched Lost. Chuck was supposed to come home early from work so we could do something, but alas he stayed at work to finish things up. Wednesday was pretty good. I stayed at Institute most of the day since Chuck was finishing up at work before leaving for San Diego. I made a few videos, and had fun doing so. Here is a few of them....
video
video
We all had a lot of fun, and visited for a few hours. I actually spent 5 hours there that day. 3 in class, and 2 just visiting. ;0) It was nice to not be so isolated, and just socialize.
Thursday was a good class at Institute, and then I came home to relax for a few hours before heading to the Temple. For the first time in my life I think, I turned off a movie I had really wanted to see, because of a certain cuss word she kept saying in the movie. ;-O I know I was shocked to!!! I am surrounded by cussing Marines Night and day. And it is just something I have learned to live with. My favorite is when an officer will cuss pretty bad and then look at me, and say pardon my language mam, and then continue cussing. I just look at them like they are idiots and ignore them. But I have been wanting to see the movie with Anne Hathaway in it called Rachel getting married. It looked funny, and a 28 days kind of movie. Well I didn't even make it 30 minutes into the film before I stopped the recording because she was saying this one cuss word way to much!!! I think I have turned another leaf!! lol
So I was off to the Temple at 3, and walked the grounds for a few minutes before heading in. I changed into my dress, went to the 4p.m. session, and hey Jeff wasn't there like I thought. It's all good, I was kinda falling asleep during it. I was a little tired. I ran to the cafeteria and drank some milk, and ate some cheese and a banana, then I ran to the 6 p.m. session, but felt like I shouldn't. So I went to talk to the Temple Presidency for a few minutes, and then went and decided to do some sealings. I made it through 5, and then fainted on the last one right when I said Amen! lol go figure. I had taken care of my blood sugar, and thought I was good. But apparently not. I knew it was coming, and was trying to hang on, but I could feel it coming. I braced myself for it, so I would fall into a sitting position, and fall forward and not back. I think I gave one of the poor little old guys a heart attack! So that ended my work at the Temple. ha ha
Well I guess it is time for me to go to bed. I will try to be better about blogging this week!
