Percy Jackson and the Litghtning Thief Review

I was disappointed when I couldn't see this movie in theaters. So when I found out it was coming out on DVD and PPV I was pretty excited. I mean finally I could see it. So Chuck and I had a date night. We crawled in bed and watched the movie.

Percy is a Half Blood or a Demigod. He is the son of Poseidon, but he doesn't know yet. He has always thought he was just a delinquent kid who had ADHD, was dyslexic, and always caused trouble. Little does he know that his best friend Grover is a Satyr, and his favorite teacher is a Centaur. Soon his world takes a major turn.

Percy gets framed for stealing Zeus's thunderbolt, and goes on a journey to find out what happened and save his mother.

The movie overall was pretty cute. It is very juvenile, and you can tell it is really made for a younger crowd. I just started reading the book series and love the first one. I am sad however that the movie didn't even begin to follow the book.

I give the movie an overall 3.5 out of 5 stars.

  1. Yea I couldn't believe how far they deviated from the book! Series of books is MUCH better :) Oh and I bought two snails for my fish tank and named one of them Percy and the other Nico (that name will be familiar to you once you finish the series) he he.
